As stated before "I will try to make this a very simple to game to run" and I think "run" is the key to that statement.
I took a backwards approach to the creation of this game. I started with what I thought would make a fun character sheet to work with and then used that as my outline to begin creation of the actual game. However, I'm finding that it may be too simple. In order to give depth to any part of the game I'm going to add more than I wanted to and revamp the character sheet. I'm a little dissapointed at this revelation because I had hoped that things would just click together and everything would be fine and fun.

It will be fun though and I'm sure it will be fun as well. More depth to a game means that you can do more and doing more makes everything fun. Character creation is one of the most fun parts if an RPG, at least for me it is. I think that allowing more options during character creation while still keeping the game machanics simple will allow for a fun and exciting game experiance.

First Post

This is first of what I hope will be many posts detailing the progress of my new pen and paper game which will be code named "Project: Oberon". I've always wanted to be able to do that. Like move studios do with high profile movies, give them code names. Anyway I'm rambling. Back on the subject.

I don't want to give away to much of what I'm working on because, well, this IS the internet and nothing is sacred. So at this point let's just say that I'm working on a brand new RPG. Everything created brand new from scratch. The storyline, the world, the character creation system, the skills and even the combat system. I will work and rework very hard to make this a very simple game to run. Which is to also say that anyone who has played any other RPG should look at it and think, "Oh wow, that's so easy. Why didn't anyone do that before?"
